The Skagit Valley (15-20) beat the Shoreline (9-22) 4-1 in seven innings on Sunday at Meridian behind YUSUKE AKITOSHI, who had two extra base hits.
He tripled in the fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.The Shoreline's lineup had no answer for TYLER HOWLETT. The Shoreline managed just two hits off of HOWLETT, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
Mitch Mondor ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
