The Lethbridge Bulls escape the Medicine Hat Mavericks behind Regan's 10 strikeouts, 8-0

A superb effort by Alex Regan lifted the Lethbridge Bulls (29-14) to an 8-0 win over the Medicine Hat Mavericks (24-19) on Saturday at Spitz Stadium.

Regan racked up 10 strikeouts in the the Lethbridge Bulls win. The Lethbridge Bulls' pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.

Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Lethbridge Bulls to easily put away the Medicine Hat Mavericks. A groundout by Mitch Dornblut, an RBI single by Travis Steinke, and an RBI double by Nolan Bumstead during the first inning and an RBI single by Cody Stewart and a groundout by Justin Clarkson in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Lethbridge Bulls.

Bumstead had two extra-base hits for the Lethbridge Bulls.

J.P. Stevenson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed five runs.

Bumstead, Evan Comeau and Steinke helped lead the Lethbridge Bulls. They combined for seven hits and four RBIs.
