Fabre's big day not enough as the Weyburn Beavers fall to the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets, 5-3

Scott Fabre clubbed two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Weyburn Beavers (16-23) to a win on Tuesday, as the Weyburn Beavers fell to the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (16-22) 5-3 at Tom Laing Park.

The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets were led by Jake Moore's hitting. Moore went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Ross Mortenson put together a nice outing. Mortenson held the Weyburn Beavers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Matthew Kinney had an impressive outing against the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets' lineup. The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets managed just one hit off of the the Weyburn Beavers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Dalton England recorded his second win of the year for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Dylan Deavey (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
