The Melville Millionaires (10-14) and the Moose Jaw Miller Express (15-12) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Melville Millionaires capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-5 win at Pirie Field.
Zach Holley did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Melville Millionaires, reaching base three times. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the eighth inning.
The Moose Jaw Miller Express couldn't get anything going so long as Adam Shumka was on the hill. Shumka held the Moose Jaw Miller Express hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Curtis Johnson improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Melville Millionaires. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Todd Leavitt (1-3) took the loss for the Moose Jaw Miller Express. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out seven.
