The Melville Millionaires (6-8) and the Regina Red Sox (9-6) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Melville Millionaires capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-2 win at Currie Field.
The Melville Millionaires got the win thanks in large part to Blake Evetts's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Evetts allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over six innings.
It was a good day at the plate for the Regina Red Sox's Dylan Blaha. Blaha went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
Labradford Griffis (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
