Miscue gives the Blue Mountain 7-5 walk-off victory over the Yakima Valley

A walk-off error from Maggie Rust brought home the winning run for the Blue Mountain (7-29) in a 7-5 victory over the Yakima Valley (17-19) at BMCC Softball Field on Saturday.

Savanna Zarate racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Blue Mountain. He singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Nicole Brown pitched eight innings and allowed no earned runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out two.

The Yakima Valley were led by Kylie Harper's hitting. Harper went 1-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the first inning.

Rust got the win, running his season record to 3-10. He allowed one run over one inning. Rust struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.

April Shipley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
