The Highline (7-14) jumped out to an early lead on the South Puget Sound (0-18) and captured a 9-2 victory on Friday at RAC - Lacey.
The game was decided quickly as the Highline exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
A groundout by Daysha Filipe in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Highline.Jennifer Simpson was hot from the plate for the Highline. Simpson went 4-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first, sixth, and seventh innings.
The Highline relied on Hayley Craddock to eat up innings en route to the win. Craddock allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Amanda Rupright (0-15) took the loss for the South Puget Sound. He allowed nine runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out five.
