Daulton Blackwell was cold coming off the bench, but Blackwell warmed up quickly as Blackwell stroked a key pinch-hit single in the five to lead the Treasure Valley (22-8) to a 4-2 win over the Big Bend (17-13) on Sunday at Elks Memorial .
With Blackwell came to the plate and singled, bringing home Aaron Alexander.
Blackwell racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Treasure Valley.
The Big Bend had no answer for James McDonald, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Big Bend managed just one hit off of the the Treasure Valley's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Smithson Ben had a hot bat for the Big Bend. Ben went 2-3 and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Jacob Gonzales was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
