The SW Oregon (19-18) beat the Chemeketa (19-19) 3-1 on Saturday at Chemeketa Baseball Stadium behind Cedric Zumwalt, who went 2-3.
He singled in the first and sixth innings.Riley Phillips picked up the win for the SW Oregon. Phillips pitched nine innings and allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out one.
Despite the loss, the Chemeketa's Brian Middleton dominated the SW Oregon's batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.
Middleton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
