Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Pierce, 12-4

The Pierce (24-17) beat the Green River 12-4 in five innings on Monday at Cirque Park after a nine-run explosion in the third inning.

Molly LaMotte racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Pierce. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

The Green River (7-23) couldn't get anything going so long as Kelsi Goodwin was on the hill. The Green River managed just two hits off of Goodwin, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Ashley Starke racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Green River. He homered in the second inning.

Michaela Heileson got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed four runs over two innings. He struck out one, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Kenicia McLellan (2-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
