The Lorain County Ironmen (20-38) took home a marathon 2-1 victory over the Chillicothe Paints (38-20) on Sunday at VA Memorial Stadium.
With the Chillicothe Paints trailing by one, John McLain came to the plate and singled, scoring Jacob Britt.
Billy Salem had a hot bat for the Lorain County Ironmen. Salem went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the first, sixth, and tenth innings.
Zach Beaver allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings of work.
The Lorain County Ironmen had no answer for Trace Dempsey, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Dempsey gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 1 2/3 innings of work.
Joey Stoll got the win, running his season record to 2-2. Stoll struck out three, walked none and gave up one hit.
Bryce Arledge was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
