Zachary Welz had two extra base hits, sparking the Terre Haute Rex (35-21) to a 3-1 victory over the Springfield Sliders (13-42) on Thursday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

Brandon Allen pitched lights out for the Terre Haute Rex. The Springfield Sliders managed just three hits off of Allen, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his six innings of work.

Chris Bradt (1-2) took the loss for the Springfield Sliders. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.

The Terre Haute Rex's Manuel De Jesus, Kaden Moore and Welz combined for six hits and two RBIs.
