A six-run explosion in the seventh inning led the Quincy Gems (30-16) to an 11-3 win over the Champion City Kings at Quincy Stadium on Sunday.

The Quincy Gems scored in the seventh on a groundout by Demetre Taylor, , a solo home run by Cassidy Brown, , an RBI double by Dominic Miles, and an error.

Miles racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Quincy Gems.

Jake Busiek's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Quincy Gems past the Champion City Kings (18-26). Busiek allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks over seven innings.

Joe Pourier ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
