Jake Busiek hopes every outing could go as well as Monday, as Busiek struck out 15 batters to carry the Quincy Gems (24-15) to an 8-2 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen (17-21) at Clemens Field.

The biggest inning for the Quincy Gems was the ninth. The Quincy Gems' bats caught fire leading to five runs. The Quincy Gems scored in the ninth on an error, an RBI single by Adam McGinnis, a hit by pitch, a hit by pitch, and a fielder's choice.

McGinnis racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Quincy Gems.

Dylan Terrell was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Quincy Gems batters and allowing two runs.

James Ball was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
