Martinelli helps the West Virginia Miners down the Champion City Kings 10-6

David Martinelli went 1-1 as the West Virginia Miners (24-14) took home a 10-6 victory over the Champion City Kings (14-21) at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Friday.

He singled in the fifth inning.

Brent Hermanussen led the Champion City Kings' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Cody Pope recorded his third win of the year for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed one run over 3 2/3 innings. Pope struck out three, walked one and gave up four hits.

Joe Piercey (0-1) took the loss for the Champion City Kings. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
