The Terre Haute Rex (18-13) and the Quincy Gems (17-12) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Terre Haute Rex that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-2 win at Quincy Stadium.

It was a good day at the plate for the Terre Haute Rex's Cayce Bredlau. Bredlau went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Brandon Allen picked up the win for the Terre Haute Rex. Allen allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings of work.

The Terre Haute Rex had no answer for Preston Church, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Terre Haute Rex managed just one hit off of Church, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Will Spitzfaden couldn't get it done on the mound for the Quincy Gems, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
