Ronnie Dawson went 2-3 and hit a home run, helping the Chillicothe Paints (19-9) to a 7-2 victory over the Champion City Kings (12-15) on Monday at VA Memorial Stadium.
He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.The Chillicothe Paints relied on Jason Byers to eat up innings en route to the win. Byers allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Alex Dandridge (0-1) took the loss for the Champion City Kings. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
