The Champion City Kings (11-13) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 5-2 ballgame against the Lorain County Ironmen (10-15) on Friday at Davidson Stadium.

The Lorain County Ironmen were led by Nate Langhals's hitting. Langhals went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs. He homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Jake Bennett paced the Champion City Kings at the plate. Bennett went 2-5 and scored one run. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.
J T Brubaker recorded his third win of the year for the Lorain County Ironmen. He allowed two runs over 6 2/3 innings. T Brubaker struck out five, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Luke Mamer was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
