T J Diffenderfer went 3-3 at the plate, helping the Chillicothe Paints (17-8) to a 9-4 victory over the Butler Blue Sox (15-11) on Friday at Pullman Park.

Nick Sell had a hot bat for the Butler Blue Sox. Sell went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Alex Martin brought the heat against the Chillicothe Paints during his outing. The Chillicothe Paints managed just one hit off of Martin, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Lance Elder improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered six hits.

Denis Lyman (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
