David Martinelli went 2-4, sparking the West Virginia Miners (13-12) to a 5-3 victory over the Richmond RiverRats (10-13) on Wednesday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

The Richmond RiverRats couldn't get anything going so long as Kolin Stanley was on the hill. Stanley held the Richmond RiverRats hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Quinton Yocom recorded his first win of the year for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Tommy Winterstein was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
