Cayce Bredlau went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Terre Haute Rex (14-8) took home an 8-5 victory over the Springfield Sliders (4-17) at Robin Roberts Field on Saturday.
He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.The Springfield Sliders had no answer for Tommy Strunc, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Springfield Sliders managed just one hit off of Strunc, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out six during his six innings of work.
Nick Hellman couldn't get it done on the mound for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
