The West Virginia Miners (7-10) and the Lorain County Ironmen (7-11) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the West Virginia Miners capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 2-1 win at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Grant Massey reached base three times. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

The Lorain County Ironmen couldn't get anything going as long as Andrew Bramley was pitching. The Lorain County Ironmen managed just three hits off of Bramley, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 5 2/3 innings of work.

A bright spot for the Lorain County Ironmen in the defeat was Jose Flores, who allowed only one run while striking out six.

Kolin Stanley got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Stanley struck out four, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jake Hall (2-1) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
