The Danville Dans seventh-inning burst enough to top the Terre Haute Rex, 8-2

The Danville Dans (8-8) blew out the Terre Haute Rex (8-8) 8-2 on Monday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad after pouring on five runs in the seventh inning.

The Danville Dans scored in the seventh on a single by Curtis Olvey, , a double by Keith Shumaker, , and an RBI single by Derek Herrington.

Herrington racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Danville Dans.

The Terre Haute Rex couldn't get anything going so long as C J Burdick was on the hill. The Terre Haute Rex managed just three hits off of J Burdick, who allowed two earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Brad Lombard pitched lights out for the Terre Haute Rex. Lombard gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Tommy Strunc ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
