Brendon Neel had four RBIs, sparking the Richmond RiverRats (4-7) to a 5-1 victory over the Butler Blue Sox (5-5) on Sunday at McBride Stadium.

He singled in the third inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Adam Manner allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out one over eight innings of work.

A bright spot for the Butler Blue Sox in the defeat was Ben Hartz, who allowed only one run while striking out six.

Matt Brankle improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Richmond RiverRats. Brankle struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.

Alex Martin (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
