Manuel De Jesus went 2-3, helping the Terre Haute Rex (4-2) to an 8-3 victory over the Springfield Sliders (1-3) on Sunday at Robin Roberts Field.
He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.The Terre Haute Rex's lineup had no answer for Evan Flood. Flood held the Terre Haute Rex hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Tommy Strunc recorded his first win of the year for the Terre Haute Rex. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out eight, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Geoff Boylston couldn't get it done on the hill for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out six.
