The Terre Haute Rex (4-2) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Springfield Sliders (1-3), recording a 13-4 victory on Saturday at Robin Roberts Field.

The game was decided quickly as the Terre Haute Rex exerted their will early with nine runs in the first three innings.

A three-run home run by Grayson Atwood and in the first inning helped the Terre Haute Rex put some runs on the board early.

Atwood racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Terre Haute Rex.

Matthew Nestor recorded his first win of the year for the Terre Haute Rex. Nestor struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.

Chance Simpson couldn't get it done on the bump for the Springfield Sliders, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
