Wednesday was a great day for Destinee Chang, as he hit two home runs to carry the Chemeketa (13-9) to an 11-3 victory over the Lower Columbia (13-5) at Tam O' Shanter Park in six innings.
Chang racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Chemeketa. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the third and sixth innings.
The Chemeketa blew out the Lower Columbia thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. A three-run home run by Chang and a solo home run by Jordan Martin helped the Chemeketa score four runs in the sixth. The Chemeketa had four hits in the inning.
Anne Binnschus had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second and fourth innings.
Jessica Hotaling recorded his seventh win of the year for the Chemeketa. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered seven hits.
Julia Breidt couldn't get it done on the mound for the Lower Columbia, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
