Three first-inning runs helped the Wellington (KS) Heat (2-1) to a 7-5 win over the Nevada (MO) Griffons (1-2) at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Tuesday.

The Nevada (MO) Griffons couldn't get anything going so long as BRADY BOWEN was on the hill. BOWEN held the Nevada (MO) Griffons hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Steve Danielak ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
