The Atwater Aviators (24-18) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Alameda Merchants (29-12) dominated in a 13-3 win at St. Marys College.

The Alameda Merchants scored five runs in the fourth on , a two-run single by Joe Armstrong, a double by Jordan Grubbs, and a double by Tyler Buchanan.

Armstrong led the Alameda Merchants' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored five runs and had two RBIs.

Peter Nyznyk's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Alameda Merchants past the Atwater Aviators. Nyznyk allowed one earned run on seven hits and two walks over eight innings.

Jeff McGrarry had a hot bat for the Atwater Aviators. McGrarry went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Andrew Alig (5-2) took the loss for the Atwater Aviators. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
