The San Diego (CA) Stars (1-0) beat the Valley Center (KS) D. Dawgs (0-1) 10-2 on Saturday thanks to a five-run seventh inning.

The Valley Center (KS) D. Dawgs jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Valley Center (KS) D. Dawgs were ahead until the fifth inning, but the San Diego (CA) Stars would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a two-run double by Taylor Oldham.

Oldham racked up two RBIs on two hits for the San Diego (CA) Stars. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

John Sintes looked sharp on the mound. The Valley Center (KS) D. Dawgs managed just three hits off of Sintes, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Dustin Hurlbutt couldn't get it done on the hill for the Valley Center (KS) D. Dawgs, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
