Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Roswell Invaders top the Alpine Cowboys behind Mejia's 2 hits, 7-3

Story by Narrative Science.

Saturday was a great day for Vincent Mejia, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Roswell Invaders (2-0) to a 7-3 victory over the Alpine Cowboys (0-2) at Joe Bauman Park.

The Alpine Cowboys couldn't get anything going as long as Shayne Herold was on the mound. Herold held the Alpine Cowboys hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Derrick Fox racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Alpine Cowboys. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Steve Sanguliano recorded his first win of the year for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Noah Piard (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

The Roswell Invaders were sparked by Mejia and Roger Bernal, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
