The Herndon Braves (7-23) beat the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (11-21) 6-2 in seven innings on Monday at Alan McCullock Field behind Chris Dugan, who went 3-3 at the plate.
He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.Jeremy Charles put together a nice outing. The Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts managed just one hit off of Charles, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Bryan Even got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over four innings. Even struck out four, walked one and gave up three hits.
Chris Flores ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
