The Torrington Titans (5-7) outlasted the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (3-8) at Fussenich Park 8-7 on Sunday after 10 innings.
With the score tied at seven, Connor McKay came to the plate and singled, scoring Jim Topps.
It was a good day at the plate for the Torrington Titans' Micheal Odenwaelder. Odenwaelder went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and fourth innings and tripled in the sixth inning.
Jason Beyers pitched lights out for the Torrington Titans. The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs managed just one hit off of Beyers, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs were led by a flawless day at the dish by Tyler McVicar, who went 4-4 against the Torrington Titans' pitching. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the fourth, seventh, and ninth innings.
Hunter Engelhart got the win, running his season record to 1-1. Engelhart struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Michael Yerina ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
