Early lead not enough for the Saskatchewan, drop 2-1 decision to the Prince Edward Island

The Saskatchewan (0-1) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 2-1 to the Prince Edward Island (1-1) on Thursday.

While the Saskatchewan led until the seventh inning, the Prince Edward Island worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Drew Grady.

Carter Folk was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Prince Edward Island batters and allowing zero runs.

Denver MacKenzie got the win, running his season record to 1-0. MacKenzie struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Kade Erickson (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
