The Gateway Grizzlies need walk-off single to beat the Normal CornBelters, 4-3

A walk-off single from Jonathan Johnson brought home the winning run for the Gateway Grizzlies (18-7) in a 4-3 victory over the Normal CornBelters (16-10) at GCS Ballpark on Sunday.

Johnson got on base three times in the game for the Gateway Grizzlies. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Tim Brown handled the Normal CornBelters' lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Brown allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk over 6 2/3 innings.

T.J. Gavlik had two extra-base hits for the Normal CornBelters. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Zac Treece got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Alan Oaks couldn't get it done on the bump for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
