The Yorkton Cardinals (3-6) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Weyburn Beavers (4-4), and the Yorkton Cardinals lost 7-5 to the Weyburn Beavers after falling behind by five runs in the sixth inning.

The Yorkton Cardinals scored four runs in the seventh on a two-run double by Kevin McLeod and two singles. Still, the Yorkton Cardinals couldn't draw even.

Chris Manning racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Weyburn Beavers. He homered in the fourth inning, tripled in the fifth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.

Michael Crain had an impressive outing against the Yorkton Cardinals' lineup. Crain held the Yorkton Cardinals hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Even though Chris Housley allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. Housley struck out seven, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Shaniel Rivera (0-1) took the loss for the Yorkton Cardinals. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
