The Slippery Rock Sliders (3-6) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Chillicothe Paints (6-4) on Friday, as the Slippery Rock Sliders fell 6-4 at Jack Critchfield Park after falling behind by five runs in the third inning.

The Slippery Rock Sliders scored on a fielder's choice and a wild pitch in the third inning and an RBI single by Storm Wilson and an RBI double by Dan Hurlimann in the seventh inning. Unfortunately, the Slippery Rock Sliders weren't able to take the lead back.

Zac Mathie racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.

The Slippery Rock Sliders couldn't get anything going as long as Greg Greve was on the mound. Greve held the Slippery Rock Sliders hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Cooper Mickelson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Slippery Rock Sliders.

Ben Glischinski recorded his first win of the year for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. Glischinski struck out six, walked three and gave up four hits.

Zach Place ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
