The Rockford Aviators (2-14)'s six first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 7-4 win over the Normal CornBelters (12-5) on Thursday at Aviator Stadium.
Mike Schwartz did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Normal CornBelters, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jon Gulbransen recorded his first win of the year for the Rockford Aviators. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Gulbransen struck out two, walked two and gave up eight hits.
Jose Trinidad (3-1) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked four and struck out one.
