The bats were busy at St. Marys College on Sunday, and when the dust cleared the Walnut Creek Crawdads had a 9-8 win over the South Bay Storm (1-3) in seven innings.
The two teams combined for 24 hits in the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the sixth, with eight lead changes.
Michael Mann had two extra-base hits for the Walnut Creek Crawdads. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Jeff Espinosa got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed one run over three innings. Espinosa struck out five, walked none and gave up four hits.
Dallan Malcolmson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
The Walnut Creek Crawdads' Michael Brdar, Tony DiLeo, Allen Smoot and Mann combined for 10 hits and six RBIs.
