Joel Lutz had two extra base hits, sparking the Medicine Hat Mavericks (35-6) to an 8-6 victory over the Lethbridge Bulls (21-20) on Friday at Spitz Stadium.

He singled in the first inning, homered in the fifth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.

Corey Wood racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Lethbridge Bulls. He doubled in the third and seventh innings.

Zack Winchester got the win, running his season record to 4-1. He allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered three hits.

Cade Bowen (1-3) took the loss for the Lethbridge Bulls. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked three and struck out five.

Guillaume Gingras, CJ DeDeaux and Lutz helped lead the Medicine Hat Mavericks. They combined for seven hits and two RBIs.
