Ben Villafuerte was cold coming off the bench, but Villafuerte warmed up quickly as Villafuerte stroked a key pinch-hit single in the three to lead the Melville Millionaires (19-14) to a 7-3 win over the Weyburn Beavers (13-22) on Sunday at Tom Laing Park.

With the game scoreless in the third inning Villafuerte came to the plate and singled.

Garrett Killgore racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Melville Millionaires. He singled in the second and third innings.

Homero Ortiz kept contact to a minimum, striking out nine the Weyburn Beavers batters. Ortiz allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over six innings.

Michael Crain couldn't get it done on the hill for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
