Anthony Armanino hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Armanino pitched seven shutout innings to carry the Swift Current Indians (12-5) to a 4-3 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (6-11) at Mitchell Field.
Jake Gonzalez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He tripled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Gonzalez improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Swift Current Indians. Gonzalez struck out four, walked none and gave up three hits.
Houston Creighton (0-2) took the loss for the Weyburn Beavers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
The Swift Current Indians were sparked by Mario Sanchez and Gonzalez, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
