Wednesday was a great day for Jason Renner, as Renner threw a shutout to carry the Moose Jaw Miller Express (7-10) to a 2-0 victory over the Medicine Hat Mavericks (13-3) at Ross Wells Park.
The Moose Jaw Miller Express' Renner kept the Medicine Hat Mavericks off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up four.
Ryan Castadio was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Moose Jaw Miller Express batters and allowing two runs.
Castadio ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
