Early lead gives the Edinburg Roadrunners easy victory over the San Angelo Colts, 12-6

The Edinburg Roadrunners (2-4) jumped out to an early lead on the San Angelo Colts (3-3) and captured a 12-6 victory on Wednesday at Foster Field.

The game was decided quickly as the Edinburg Roadrunners exerted their will early with seven runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Chris Christopolous and a two-run single by Tyler Diaz in the first inning and a three-run home run by Bobby Rinard and a solo home run by Bunyu Maeda during the second inning helped the Edinburg Roadrunners put some runs on the board early.

 

 

Maeda racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Edinburg Roadrunners.

 

 

Kasuma Isabachi brought the heat against the San Angelo Colts during his outing. The San Angelo Colts managed just one hit off of Isabachi, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

 

 

Oscar Garcia was solid at the plate for the San Angelo Colts. Garcia went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and seventh innings and doubled in the ninth innings.

 

Drew Coffey recorded his first win of the year for the Edinburg Roadrunners. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Frank James was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked none and struck out one.
