The Edinburg Roadrunners (3-8) jumped on the Fort Worth Cats (8-3) early on their way to a 4-3 win on Sunday at Edinburg Stadium, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Edinburg Roadrunners held off the Fort Worth Cats, as the Fort Worth Cats were unable to overcome a three-run first inning deficit.

The Fort Worth Cats scored on a sacrifice fly by Shelby Ford in the third inning and an RBI single by Aljay Davis and an RBI single by Ford in the fifth inning. Still, the Fort Worth Cats couldn't catch the Edinburg Roadrunners.

Justin Klipp kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Fort Worth Cats batters. Klipp allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over six innings.

Cole Stephens ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
