A magnificent effort by Kenny Rubin lifted the Team Asylum (2-0) to a 19-9 win in five innings over the UGHHH WEIRD (0-2) on Saturday at Colonial Springs.
Rubin racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Team Asylum. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the first and fourth innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 28 runs and 51 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Sixteen runs in the first three innings helped the Team Asylum blow out the UGHHH WEIRD. A three-run home run by Rubin, an RBI single by Joe Reina, and a two-run double by Vic Fernandez in the first inning and an RBI single by Greg Kostik, an RBI single by Drew Ligarzewsky, an RBI single by Jeff Boardman, an RBI single by Reina, a single by Fernandez, , a two-run single by Germain Collazo, a sacrifice fly by Rubin, and a double by Jay Peluso during the second inning fueled the Team Asylum's offense early.
Jared Schmidt racked up three RBIs on two hits for the UGHHH WEIRD. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the fourth inning.
The Team Asylum pounded the UGHHH WEIRD pitching, as nine hitters combined for 28 hits, 15 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
