Jason Veyna hit two home runs to carry the Trinidad Triggers (24-15) to a 15-14 win over the Santa Fe Fuego (18-21) at Fort Marcy Park.
Veyna racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the third and sixth innings and singled in the eighth inning.
Offense was not hard to come by on on Monday, as both teams combined for 29 runs and 33 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were 11 pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.
The Santa Fe Fuego couldn't get anything going as long as Scott Elitzky was on the mound. Elitzky held the Santa Fe Fuego hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Kevin Camacho (4-2) took the loss for the Santa Fe Fuego. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked five, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
