Miller's effort not enough in the Trinidad Triggers' 18-7 loss

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Bryce Miller could carry the Trinidad Triggers (25-18) past the Santa Fe Fuego at Fort Marcy Park on Thursday as the Trinidad Triggers suffered a 18-7 defeat.

Miller racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Trinidad Triggers. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Santa Fe Fuego (20-23) couldn't get anything going as long as Miller was pitching. The Santa Fe Fuego managed just one hit off of the the Trinidad Triggers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his one inning of work.

The Santa Fe Fuego blew out the Trinidad Triggers thanks to 16 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Santa Fe Fuego scored five runs in the sixth on an error, an RBI single by Jimmy Maxwell, an error, an RBI single by Josh Barnett, and an RBI single by Charlie Calamia.

Bryson Sims racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He doubled in the fifth inning, homered in the seventh inning, and singled in the first and eighth innings.

Kevin Camacho got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over six innings. Camacho struck out eight, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Zach Leitten (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out four.
