The Gary SouthShore RailCats (6-3) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Kansas City T-Bones (2-7), recording an 8-1 victory on Saturday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Gary SouthShore RailCats to put the game away early.

An RBI triple by Mike Massaro, an RBI single by Cristian Guerrero, an RBI single by Drew Martinez, and in the first inning and a two-run home run by Guerrero during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Guerrero racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Alain Quijano's five strikeouts helped the Gary SouthShore RailCats to the victory. Quijano allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks over five innings.

Devin Goodwin had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Brian Murphy (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked five and struck out one.
