The Grand Prairie AirHogs take out the Amarillo Sox with help from Pinckney, 6-3

Brandon Pinckney went 2-4, helping the Grand Prairie AirHogs (1-6) to a 6-3 victory over the Amarillo Sox (3-5) on Thursday at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stad.

He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fourth innings.

Justin Dowdy brought the heat against the Amarillo Sox during his outing. Dowdy held the Amarillo Sox hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Chris Valencia was hot from the plate for the Amarillo Sox. Valencia went 3-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.

Josh Strawn got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. Strawn struck out six, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Jason Mitchell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
